1st AD 2025 Cohort
We just want to say a huge thank you to ScreenSkills HETV fund, working groups, Jacqui Taunton Fenton, Louise Bromilow and team for entrusting us -- Alison Surtees and me — to support such a brilliant group of ADs from across the UK over the past few months.
It all began (back in January, though it feels like years ago!) with an in-person workshop where we were joined by awesome ADs Will Jasper and Paul Murphy to dig into the heart of what it really means to be a 1st AD in both HETV and film.
Since then, we’ve had the pleasure of running further group workshops with some incredibly generous contributors — thank you to Haley Muraleedharan (Intimacy Coordinator), award-winning director, Dominic Leclerc, Danny Hargreaves IExpE and the team at the Bafta and Emmy- winning REAL SFX LTD, Final Pixel and James Codling, 1st ADs Martin Curry, Sarah Lucas, Producer Marcus Wilson, and Line Producer Kate Larking for your time, insights and generosity.
In addition to the folk above, thanks also to these generous TV and Film Professionals who gave their time to meet with our ADs, we've had time with Dewi Griffiths, Shelley Lankovits, Ursula Haworth, Fay Selby, Matt Clinch, Christiana Ebohon-Green, Amy Coop, Toby Heffernan, David Stafford, Helena Hanson CMIOSH, Alice Corona and Charlie Elliot, to name just a few.
This industry can be a tough one — the landscape is uncertain and jobs aren’t always easy to come by — but honestly, this group of ADs are outstanding. We’re so proud to have worked with them and to see how they’re progressing. We can’t wait to watch their careers grow and to keep cheering them on.
Finally, thank you to everyone who helped spread the word, nominated talent, and supported us along the way — especially the AD Guild UK and its members, whose support (in addition to ScreenSkills) has been constant throughout the programme.
Well done to our cohort:
Liane O'Toole, Natasha (Tish) Fournel, Dan Gill, Alistair Artault, Simon Dale, Jack Fontaine, Andrew Vanneck, Josie Connor, Alex Mill, Stuart Jerome Learmonth, Merv Lewis, Sam Roffey and Henry Gordon
It’s been a privilege and we look forward to continuing to support you.
That's a Wrap.....
