With nearly 3 decades of experience in the film and television industry, Addie Orfila has built a career spanning both senior production leadership and internationally recognised training and consultancy.
Beginning her career as a runner at ITV Yorkshire, Addie worked her way through the production ranks as a 3rd Assistant Director, 1st Assistant Director, Production Manager and Head of Production before moving into Production Executive roles. Along the way she has worked across some of the UK's best-loved programmes and has held senior production roles across the UK's major continuing dramas.
Today, Addie combines that extensive production experience with a passion for developing people, building inclusive workplace cultures and helping organisations create confident, effective leaders.
For the past decade she has run her own consultancy, designing and delivering bespoke leadership, management and production training throughout the UK and internationally. Her clients include Netflix, BBC, ITV, ScreenSkills, Warner Bros. Discovery, PACT, The Production Guild, The Film and TV Charity, BECTU, Northern Ireland Screen, BFI, Screen Alliance, TRC, NFTS, Amazon Prime, The Royal Television Society, Screen Yorkshire and many of the industry's leading broadcasters, studios and production companies.
Addie is the lead designer and trainer of Leadership Essentials, ScreenSkills' flagship leadership programme, helping hundreds of Heads of Department and production leaders across High-End TV, Film, children's, unscripted, animation and VFX develop the practical leadership skills needed to lead successful teams in today's screen industries.
Alongside leadership development, Addie specialises in workplace culture, respectful behaviours and inclusive leadership. She designs and delivers training on bullying and harassment, psychological safety, equality, diversity and creating healthier, more inclusive working environments. Her work ranges from supporting new entrants taking their first steps into the industry to coaching senior executives responsible for leading large-scale productions and organisations.
Her expertise takes her around the world, delivering leadership programmes, AD and Production Management training and she co-created the globally used Script to Screen e-learning programme with Netflix and ScreenSkills. She continues to work as a production consultant, most recently advising organisations including the BBC and contributing to the RTS Mini MBA.
A passionate advocate for developing talent, Addie is an industry mentor and serves as a Member Director of Women in Film & Television UK and has previously served on the Board of The Production Guild. Earlier in her career she was one of two lead trainers for the industry's Project Diamond diversity monitoring initiative and a member of Channel 4's Mentoring Diversity Network.
Whether she's coaching an individual, facilitating a workshop or advising an organisation, Addie's approach is practical, engaging and grounded in real production experience. Her goal is simple: to help people lead with confidence, build stronger teams and create workplaces where everyone can do their best work.
